Ian Shepherd

Ian Shepherd is a Maui photographer originally from California. He moved to the island in 2001 and began shooting seriously in 2005. After spending years as the top-booked photographer for Hawaiʻi’s largest studio, he went on to open his own business.

Ian’s love for photography began early, inspired by flipping through a zoology book and discovering the world from fresh perspectives. As he grew in his craft, he found that same sense of wonder in the people he photographed. Weddings introduced him to incredible individuals from all walks of life—many of whom became more than clients.

For Ian, wedding photography is all about connection. The technical side fades into the background so he can focus on helping people feel comfortable, laugh, and be themselves. That’s when the most honest and meaningful images happen.

And he always looks forward to creating those images with every couple he works with.
